Data Entry Specialist
Program ObjectivesThe objective of this short Data Entry Program is to introduce the student to standard office machines and computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and internet applications. This is a good program for those who need to gain more up-to-date computer skills.
Some duties may include:
- Clerical functions such as filing, creating correspondence documents using computer word processing, and 10-key by touch
- Entering data from checks, bills, invoices, and other documents into a computer system
- Creates typewritten documents
- Basic skills: reading, writing, math, listening and speaking
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Recommended minimum keyboarding/typing speed of 35 WPM
- Understanding basic computer terminology and applications
- Understanding Internet Business and E-Mail applications
Some offices require only a limited knowledge of standard office machines with fundamental skills to perform their daily activities. Retail outlets and service companies are but a few of the occupational fields that require some knowledge of these skills.
