Computer Systems Specialist

Program Objectives

The objective of the Computer Systems Specialist Program is to allow the student to develop proficiency in today’s most popular business software. Exposure to databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and internet applications is emphasized.

Some of their duties include:

  • Administrative and clerical functions
  • Performs accounting and other reporting mechanisms using computerized spreadsheets
  • Maintains computerized inventory and database systems
  • Accesses and provides information via electronic communications software, internet, and e-mail
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management programs
Desired Personal Attributes:
  • Understanding of basic business math computations and their applications
  • Problem solving, decision-making and reasoning
  • Understanding of the double entry bookkeeping system
  • Proficiency in keyboarding
